Icons Rally To Support The Houston Food Bank
Dear Food Bank Volunteers,
On behalf of the Houston Prudential Community Volunteer Council, we want
to thank you for your hard work at the Houston Food Bank on December
3rd.
According to the food bank staff, you processed approximately 400
requests for food during your shift. The work that you did will ensure
that these deserving local families have a healthy food to eat during
the holidays.
Independent Sector, a leadership forum for charities, foundations, and
corporate giving programs, currently defines the dollar value of a
volunteer hour as $20.25. Therefore, the volunteer hours the group
contributed to the Houston Food Bank on December 3rd (63 hours total)
resulted in $1,275.75 in payroll savings for the agency. Your efforts
truly made an impact!
